Toni's Creations Concrete Statuary
Toni's Creations is a small mom and pop shop located in the Southwest Minnesota town of Ruthton. We initially started purchasing concrete molds and pouring statues in 2005 but officially started our concrete statuary business in 2007 and have been growing ever since.
One thing that sets us apart from our competitors is the type of materials we use in our products. We do not use the traditional pea rock in our concrete mixtures. Typically, pea rock is a mixture of both hard rocks and soft rocks. Which means that the soft rocks could "pop" during cold weather months and cause concrete to crack. We only use one type of rock in our mixtures and that is red rock quartz - a hard rock that can be found in South Dakota. We also don't use paint to color our statues. We use a concrete stain - just like the stain you would use to color a concrete driveway or walkway. We have had better success using concrete stains because it seems to absorb into the concrete.
All of the photos that are posted are either plain concrete pieces or they are colored in a concrete stain. The colors that you see on a statue can be interchanged with any other color you see. The final coat we apply on our stained statues is a non-yellowing clear coat gloss. It is recommended to re-apply a coat of this gloss once a year to once every two years.
